Brownie Dancers at Peachy Fitness

Last week several Brownies enjoyed learning Zumba during our new Brownie Dancer Badge program.

Last Friday Peachy Fitness hosted a trial class for one of our new Girl Scout Badge programs. In all, nine Brownies from several area Girl Scout Troops joined us for an evening of dance, exercise and healthy tips.

They also learned about good posture and how they could express themselves through dance by participating in several fun games. Then the girls got down to business, learning the steps involved in the dance they were being taught. They had time to be silly while learning all of the steps of the fun dance, and then broke into several teams where they performed for their Troop friends and parents.

After all of their hard work, the girls settled down for a healthy snack and talked about tips to stay and keep healthy. This was an important step for badge connection, allowing the girls time to reflect on what they learned and talk about ways to continue these healthy habits.

Regina Fransik, a Brownie Troop Leader had this to say a few days after her daughter enjoyed the program. “Since going to Zumba, Marissa is never without her water bottle and practices her “new moves” through out the day. She’s even asking if the instructor can teach the troop how to do Yoga next.”
